Gabriella Mazure

Artist’s Statement

From as early as she can remember, Gabriella spoke first through movement. While other children played on the ground, she danced among adults in unlikely places. Dance became her first language, the root of her embodiment, and the doorway into understanding humanity itself.

Drawn to cultural memory held in the body, she studied flamenco, samba, Bollywood, classical Indian forms, and folkloric traditions with the curiosity of an artistic anthropologist.

Her free-styling developed its own signature: alive, intuitive, relational. She was rehired for the way she interacted with the room, how she could shift atmosphere through presence alone.

Even when she was mocked for dancing in mundane spaces but then applauded for the very same movements once she stepped on stage, she recognised something essential about art: people feel safer witnessing freedom than embodying it.

This paradox only deepened her devotion to expression as a sacred act.

Her artistic path has since woven through immersive theatre, cabaret, music, performance art, voice work, modelling, and writing. Across every medium, the thread remains the same: Gabriella creates from instinct, imagination, and an unbroken commitment to exploring what moves through the human body and human psyche.

Before and after everything else, she is, and has always been – an artist.
